Know more about Peeling

Sun exposure, aging and acne can leave marks on the skin that displease many people. Peeling techniques are good allies for those who wish combat blemishes, scars or wrinkles. Used to promote cell renewal from the top layer of the skin, cornea and the deeper dermis, peeling hydrates and stimulates new collagen formation, responsible for the appearance of rejuvenated skin.

Peeling exfoliates and loosens the skin. Like the name says, it promotes the skin to peel. Peelings can be chemical-based abrasive liquids or mechanical (dermabrasion), when used to sand down skin. They require care before the procedure, the day of the procedure and after the peeling.

The depth of the peel depends on the type of acid or technique. The more aggressive process is acid, in hich the peel depth is considerable. In the case of dermabrasion, the doctor will control the peeldepth, which may range from superficial to deep. The results of the peeling vary depending on the skin thickness and depth of wrinkles.

Light peels can be done in the office while the deeper peels must be performed in a hospital setting.

Deep peeling should be done under sedation, since the mild peeling does not require anesthesia.

Peeling takes about 30 to 40

In light peels, recovery is about two to three days. In deep peels, it takes on average 1 to 2 weeks. In both
cases, one should avoid sun exposure while the face is still red or with a reddish hue.
